THAT Project is a registered non-profit company which aims to address various gaps within the animal- and social justice movements in South Africa.
THAT Project operates through two core initiatives
The Human Animal Project (HAP) seeks to disrupt existing power dynamics by advocating for the dismantling of structures and institutions that perpetuate the commodification and exploitation of animals, marginalised human communities, and the environment. By fostering a safe space for change-makers and promoting ongoing dialogue and collaboration, the HAP is dedicated to transforming South Africa’s social justice landscape through the lens of animal liberation.
The Transparency Project (TP) highlights the lack of documented evidence of the extent of animal abuse in SA, with a focus on the industrial animal complex. This is done through strategic campaigns in collaboration with other animal protection organisations and based on the research findings from selected activists who passed The Transparency Project’s tailor-made training program.
